At Center for Surgical Science (CSS), Zealand University Hospital Køge, we are looking for a highly motivated Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Science & Personalized Medicine team. The position offers varied and challenging advanced-analytics tasks related to our research activities, including model development in our largest projects. You will become part of a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled colleagues aiming to improve healthcare for patients in need of surgical care utilizing AI-based data-driven solutions directly in the clinic.
The ideal candidate is passionate to shape the future of personalized medicine in healthcare and finds innovation and research intriguing. You will have a proven track record of data science projects with a strong background in statistics and machine learning.

Expected qualifications

  • Master's and/or PhD degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Machine Learning or a related field
  • Proven track record of data science projects as model developer
  • Strong programming skills in Python and R
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with experimental designs, statistical modeling and decision theory
  • Experience with linux based systems and containers
  • Experience with cloud IaaS solutions

Desired qualifications

  • Experience with federated learning
  • Experience with research related projects
  • Experience with data protection
  • Experience with software as medical device
  • Experience with data standardization such as the OMOP CDM

Who we are
As a world-class research institution, we participate in key global research initiatives and have been recognized as a Danish and EU leading establishment in our respective fields. We are based in the Department of Surgery at Zealand University Hospital and our aim is to improve the treatment of patients with surgical diseases, minimize morbidity and optimize clinical outcomes. The Data Science & Personalized Medicine team at CSS is providing the necessary infrastructure and support to the core clinical department, in a common effort to achieve the centers’ goals. CSS currently consists of more than 50 employees.
